A reference is a relationship established between two Asset types, where one Asset refers to the primary key of another Asset.
References are used to ensure data integrity and consistency. They enable you to maintain the relationships between Asset types and prevent the creation of abanded records.
For example, if you have two Asset types, "Sneaker" and "Sole" which represent Sneakers and Sole the sneakers have. The "Sneaker" asset can reference the "Sole" which is present in the sneaker and also have its own history individually.
